Conference Location

Beautiful Waterfront
Halifax is a cultured and compact waterfront city with a scenic boardwalk and a busy downtown that attracts many cruise ships each year. Our conference location is perfectly central and has many hotels, shops, restaurants, pubs, parks, and public gardens nearby. Sunrise to sundown, there’s always more to discover. From the adventurous to the relaxing, and the just plain magical.

Hotels
Halifax is easily walkable and there are many hotels within just a few minutes of the conference location (5440 Spring Garden Rd, Halifax). so conference participants can stay where they like to suit their own needs and preferences:
– The Westin Nova Scotian (9 min walk)
– Four Points by Sheraton (6 min walk)
– Courtyard by Marriot Halifax Downtown (7 min walk)
– Residence Inn by Marriot Halifax (5 min walk)
– The Hollis Halifax Double Tree Suites (10 Min walk)
– Cambridge Suites Hotel (5 min walk)
– The Lord Nelson Hotel and Suites (4 min walk)
– Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel (15 min walk)

Get out of town
Halifax can be a launchpad for a host of pre- and post-conference adventure possibilities. That’s partly because our almost-island landscape means you’re never farther than 50 kilometres (or 31 miles) from the Atlantic. Nova Scotia is an absolute gem and one of Condé Nast Traveler’s top 2021 destinations. Whichever way you venture, an hour’s drive out of the city will reward you with UNESCO Heritage Sites, award-winning wineries, spectacular scenery, and many parks and beaches.

The Halifax International Airport
The Halifax International Airport has many flights daily and is served by many airlines. The airport is also just 30 minutes from Downtown Halifax, so taxis are readily available, and there are shuttles and buses that travel downtown throughout the day for a slightly lower cost (options are here).
Note that a car is not needed in downtown Halifax but rental cars are available at the airport if you have plans to head out of town (before or after the conference).
